Transitioning to a plant based diet
In the summer of 1995, after attending a vegetarian cooking class at a local hospital, Susie and her family transitioned to a plant-based diet. This change improved all of the family’s health issues. Susie’s husband Eric was instrumental in starting a local chapter of EarthSave to help facilitate this big change in their lives. That group transitioned into a local organization called Healthy Planet of Brevard. They were very active within the group. Susie wanted to share her passion for plant-based eating and its many health benefits. Through an outreach program, she began teaching cooking classes for the organization in 2005 and then became a Food for Life instructor in 2009. Susie, a former elementary teacher, has a wealth of information to share for making the transition easy for families or individuals to a happy, healthy plant-based life.
Why did you become a Food for Life instructor?
“I love to cook and share how amazing plant-based dishes can taste and how wonderful they can make you feel. The fact that I can show people that it is not difficult and that they have the power to make a huge difference in their lives is the best!”
